Red White and Blue

Yeah, I know that this post is too late for the 4th of July.  I must admit...I sure don't feel like posting when there are beautiful sunny days, a pool, yard sales and the like to keep me busy.  I did do a little decorating in one of our bedrooms this past year, this room is normally used as a dressing room and chill spot.  Moob also likes to hang out in here too.  Over the year it has evolved in to a red white and blue color scheme, but this was purely by accident.  The rug and the lampshade, curtains, lamp, etc. were found in the trash room in our condo building this past year.  Put it all together and you sort of have a patriotic room.  I didn't plan it, it just happened.

Lamp and lamp shade were found in the trash at different times.  I think that they go nicely together.

I love the pattern that shows up when the lamp is on.

The chair was a Craigslist purchase for $50 bucks a few years ago.  The pillow and red rug were all found in the trash area of my condo building.  The pillow is white and purple...but in this photo it looks more blue.  It always amazes me the stuff people will just leave down there.  Just this past weekend Ed found a perfectly good laptop that works great!

These curtains were also found in the trash room!  What are people thinking??!!  Perfectly good curtains...a little wrinkled perhaps, but look great.  All of this stuff was accumulated over the last year and this room sort of evolved into what it is now.

I've had this mirror for many years and recently painted it a beautiful blue to coordinate with the rest of the room.

Moob's favorite spot in the room is the piano.  There was a time when we were looking to get rid of the piano...but since the cat has claimed it, the piano is staying put.

The only thing your Patriotic Room needs now is a big poster of Captain America on the wall! And tell Moob to learn how to play that piano, not just lounge on it -- he could be the next Keyboard Cat and make you a million bucks!

I also have a knitted throw that was made during the Bi-Centennial, that I should have put in that room! Moob is way too lazy to play the piano! and I don't think he would appreciate it if I forced him to play like Keyboard Cat. He does love to lounge on that piano though. There have been nights where we wonder where Moob disappeared, and go to that room and I turn on the light in that room and he's on the piano!
