Bill F'ing Murray!

Saw this on a house tour on Design Sponge this morning....

.....now I MUST HAVE ONE!  (Who doesn't love Bill?)

On a side note, I met him back in 1986 in Miami Florida.  He was having dinner at Joe's Stone Crabs and I was sitting just a few feet away.  It was like seeing royalty...at least for me!  He was very gracious and seemed to be having a great time.  If you ever get to Miami you have to check out Joe's Stone Crabs...be sure to get the Key Lime Pie...its the best I've ever eaten!

While I was on vacation, I was doing a lot of online reading of some of the many shelter mags available.  As I was ready Lonny, Rue and Matchbook, I was inspired to create a more dramatic entryway in my home.  Somehow it hit me like a bolt of lightening....Stripes!!!

I had originally painted these doors to add a punch of color to the entryway, but I still feel like something is missing...

My idea is to add a more graphic statement in this area.   At first I was considering wallpaper, but its a pain to put up, plus its much easier to paint something.

Below are my inspirations:

This blue one is my favorite...but I'm not sure it would work with the green doors...may have to paint them white.

I absolutely adore these retro stripes, but I'm not sure Ed would approve....

Now I just need to figure out what color to paint the stripes, and also decide whether or not to keep the doors green or paint them out white.....decisions decisions!

Moob goes on vacation!

This past week we headed down to Cape May, NJ and Moob came along.  This was Moob's second visit to the Jersey Shore, and he really seemed to enjoy it much more this time around.  He spent less time hiding under the bed and more time hanging out with us.   His favorite thing was hanging out in the windowsill and watching all the bike riders and rabbits outside.  In another two weeks, we will be heading back down...along with Moob of course.

This is one of the two bedrooms at the Cape May house.  We use this bedroom for our bags and laundry.  Moob immediately jumped into the laundry basket.

Saw this at the train station on my way home from work yesterday.....gave me a good laugh!

This truck misjudged the height of his vehicle and got stuck under this train bridge!  They had two police cruisers block traffic in each direction while they had a tow truck try to pry it out!  Even the police were cracking up over this!  Truck is REALLY wedged in there!

Don't Mess with Mother Nature

Early Sunday evening there was some drama at our condo...as Ed and I were heading to the pool to cool off during the heat wave, we opened the door outside to very dark skies and high winds.  One kid was screaming that it was a tornado, as others were screaming for everyone to get inside.  I saw umbrellas being pulled up into the air, and folks scrambling to grab them before they flew away.  Many people were cooking out on the grills, so they were frantically packing up their stuff.  The life guard was busy too, trying to grab all the rafts and tubes that suddenly went airborne.

The crazy thing about this freak storm was that it happened so suddenly, it was sunny as Ed and I were leaving the condo to head to the pool, and by the time we got to the lobby it was dark outside.  After about 20-30 minutes the skies started to clear.  Sadly, I didn't get to cool off in the pool, because they closed it during the mayhem of the storm, tornado or whatever it was, but even though nature can be dangerous at times, it can also be beautiful, because as the sun peeked through the clouds, I saw this from our balcony....
