Happy Halloween!

I love Halloween!  I wish that we could dress up in our office, but since there are a bunch of lawyers here, we have to maintain a professional look to our wardrobe....but that doesn't mean I still can't inject a little fun into my wardrobe.  Today I decided to wear my skull earrings and spider pin to honor the day.

 My bloody skull head earrings

 My pretty spider pin

Here is my Halloween look...since I can't wear a costume

On another Halloween note, I recently rescued a black cat from the streets.  I named him Mugsy.  I'm currently trying to find his owner, but secretly I'm hoping that I can keep this sweet boy.  He's all black (just in time for Halloween) and he's a little nervous and quite timid, but he's warming up to me.  Ever since Sammy has passed away, I've been lonely for a furry companion.  Since I'm moving in with my boyfriend in the next month or so, I'm trying to figure out a way to break the news...I'm sure he won't be happy, but I'm hoping that once he meets Mugsy, he will love him like I do.

S_ _ _!

As I was slowly getting ready for work this morning, I had the local newscast on TV while drinking a cup of my morning tea.   At first I couldn't believe my ears, but when I listened to the weather forecast for tomorrow it said the dreaded S_ _ _ word!  A word that shouldn't be spoken!  A word that should be forbidden this time of year!  I was in disbelief!  I can't believe they said it!  How can it be??  Snow?!!  That's right folks, we are getting a cold blast coming our way, just in time for the weekend.  The city expects 1-2" but shouldn't really accumulate too much on the roads.  Totally sucks that I had to dig out my winter coat this early in the season!  I just have one thing to say....SHIT!

igot an iphone!

Over the weekend I managed to pick up an iphone 4s.  This is my first iphone and I'm very excited to have it.  I'm already kicking Ed's butt in Words with Friends...for the moment.  Believe me, I'm not one of those people who waits in line in the wee hours just so I can be one of the first ones to have it.  It was a lazy Sunday afternoon and Ed and leisurely made our way to the Apple store after having breakfast.  When we entered the store there was a small rope up with a line.  As we waited with all the other iphone 4S buyers, we were approached by a staff person who asked what we wanted and what carrier we were using, then we were given a card.  The whole process took over 30 minutes, but in the end I had my iphone 4s!  Siri is freaking awesome!  At first it can be a bit gimmicky.  You ask her stupid questions such as "What is the meaning of life"  Siri smartly replies "There is an app for that".  If you curse at her she will say "I"ll pretend I didn't hear that".  The great thing about Siri is you can say call Mom & Dad and she will pull their info from the phone and ask if you want to call or text them.  Siri can also search Google or Bing for information that isn't already on your phone too.  So far I've only scratched the surface on what I'm able to do with this phone, but I'm really excited to learn.  Afterwards, I picked up this groovy rubber cover for my iphone at Five Below.

Ding Dong The Bug Is Dead!!!!

This photo is a dramatization of the events of last night...

Last night, as I was in the basement pulling out some Halloween decorations, I spotted something on the floor.  When I first saw it I couldn't believe my was that damned giant flying cockroach that freaked me out a couple weeks ago....DEAD!!  It is unknown how it died, but it was found belly up on my basement floor.  It was more gray in color than brown, and he was huge!  It looked to be approximately 2" long!  For the last couple of weeks I've been terrified of entering my bedroom, anticipating the huge winged monstrosity to fly by, but now I can rest easy.  Whew!

Mooby the cat

Now that Sammy is gone, my boyfriend has asked me to think of his cat as mine too. The only problem with that is the fact that his cat isn't very friendly...except to my boyfriend. His cat Mooby is the type of cat that when you reach down to pet him he will either swat at you or move away from you. I've tried to win his affection by giving him treats, but after several years of this, its not working. Mooby only loves one person, and its not me.  At one time, he even peed on the chair that I used to sit in when I was over there.  I'm wondering if this behavior will ever change, especially since my boyfriend and I are talking about moving in together.  Even his mother agrees that his cat is not very nice!  My biggest concern is my furniture.  I'm afraid that he will destroy it the way he has destroyed all of my boyfriend's furniture.  The fact that he does nothing to discipline this cat has become an issue.  This cat basically runs around and does whatever he pleases!  By the way, the chair he's sitting on (in the photo above) is where I sit when I come over.  He gets really pissy if I push him off.
