Time for another edition of....

Back in the 70s my parents had this enormous mod cityscape sofa print in their living room.  It was yellow and orange, to go along with our orange printed sofa, orange curtains and orange shag rug...yes, orange is a favorite color in my family!  Around 10 years ago I had spotted a similar framed print at a vintage store, which was green and blue, but they wanted $200 for it, which is outrageous!  I'm sure that my parents only paid around $20 bucks for theirs!  Sadly, my parents ended up selling theirs at a yard sale when I was in college.

This is the best photo I had scanned of the sofa painting.  Sadly, the scan shows a white mark, but you can see that it is a modern cityscape.

While researching I did come across Carlo of Hollywood who did a number of paintings in this style.  Not sure if this is a print of one of his works, but it looks quite similar.

Sadly, there is no way to confirm whether or not my parents had a Carlo print or not because its gone now, and the photos are not clear enough to show any signature. My research continues....

Suzy, please tell me that you are indeed one of those leggy gals on the ends of the couch!
I love it!
And I learned somethin new from this post :)
My parents had a gold couch in the 70s with a similarly styled rural gold 'n brown barn/landscape behind it. No orange, thank gawd. Or lime green. But in my apartment, I did have a bright turquoise blue stove.

I am! I'm the one with the pink top and braces sitting next to my lecherous Great Uncle Hughie. He was one of those family members whom when you went to give a hug and a kiss on the cheek, he would turn around and kiss you full on the lips! Gross! He also used to make passes at my mom who is sitting on the other side of him. He was a bachelor his entire life.

OMG, that couch looks like one my Aunt had! My Mom had beige and green in her house in the 70's. She had a huge sofa print over the couch that she bought with S&H green stamps. It was of an alpine mountain scene. We lived in the flat-flat plain states of the Midwest! My Aunt had the identical picture over her couch too. Love your photos!

I remember S&H green stamps! My grandmother used to collect them. They sort of lost their popularity sometime in the 70s because of a decline in the quality of merchandise available.
