Breakin'

And no, I'm not talking about the dancing....I broke something that I LOVED!  I was looking for something in the closet, and I pulled out a box of Halloween and Christmas decorations, and something fell out of the top of it...I heard a crash of something breaking and it broke my heart in the process...please NO! NO! NO! NOT THAT!!  I broke my precious black cat ashtray.

The one I broke is third from the left.  Sadly I also broke the cat with the  yellow striped hat too, but I'm not as upset about that one since I got it at the dollar store (not vintage).

Now, I don't smoke, but I loved the vintage painted face on this guy with his red tongue hanging out.  It was a Charlie Brown moment, you know what I'm talking about...that scene where he puts the ornament on the tiny Christmas tree and when it flops down he exclaims "I killed it!".  That's how I'm feeling right now!

My condolences -- its time had come, I guess. But hard to take.

I always get too attached to things with "faces". Luckily enough, they are not that rare, there are bunch of them for sale on Ebay....so if I ever decide to replace it, I know where to go.
