Happy Day After Halloween!

Hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween!  I helped my sister give out candy at her house...she really goes all out with flying ghosts, smoke machine, scary music and of course both of us dressed in costume.  Its always a lot of fun.  We didn't have as many kids as in previous years, so I was giving out 3-4 candy bars to each kid.  One kid actually had the nerve to ask for more, after I gave him several candy bars!  Talk about being  greedy!  I basically ignored him while I gave out candy to the other kids who were with him, and he sulked away eventually.  Then there's the parents cart their poor little babies around in a stoller, many of them still sleeping, but in costume.  Most of the babies don't even have teeth yet, and you just know that those parents are going to go home and scarf all that candy...not the baby!  I'm sorry, but if your child is not old enough to walk, he's not old enough for candy!  In my sister's neighborhood, many of the fathers bring beer with them...and they drink it while they take out the kids trick-or-treating!  One year some guy not only drank beer, but was dressed up as a bottle of beer too!  Another guy had a wagon that he used to cart his child, as well as a six pack of beer!  Most of the kids were very polite and said thank you...except for the really shy little kids who were slightly scared of the whole thing.  When my nephews came back from trick-or-treating, they each filled a giant bowl with candy.  My littlest nephew, Sean exclaimed, while going through his loot..."Someone gave me a bag of cheese curls!  Why did they do that?"  That just cracked me up!  In honor of Halloween candy, I have a cute video of Jerry Seinfeld and his take on Halloween...very funny!

I laughed when he mentioned the hobo costume, because as kids, me, my brother and sister had an old suit that we used just for that purpose...we got a lot of mileage out of that suit!
