I Luv the 70s!

Here is some fun 70s inspiration...

This picture cracks me up!  Brilliant..just brilliant!

I am in love with those Panton chairs!  I would get rid of the sofa and the mirrored wall, and have all white walls so that the chairs and light fixture could really stand out...as is, it looks too busy.  Photo from Apartment Therapy.

Squirrel ring boxes by Jonathan Adler.  He has such wonderful retro ceramics!  The guy really knows how to create a happy home.  I wish I could afford his stuff because its so much fun.  Photo from Jonathan Adler.

These R W Berries Co. figurines are hilarious!  I remember giving one of these to my grandfather back in the70s.  I think it said something like World's Best Grandpa....Images from Etsy.

Apartment Therapy recently featured this groovy house tour!  I love all the retro 70s details.  That wall hanging is fantastic!  Photo from Apartment Therapy.

Who doesn't love Ziggy?  Recently, while I was over at my boyfriend's house, I came across a Ziggy figurine hidden in a cabinet.  He didn't even know that he had it...I should have snatched it without telling him!  Perhaps I'll see if I can persuade him to give it to me.

I am completely unashamed about the love I have for these big eyed children and pity puppies and kitties. These pictures were incredibly popular in the sixties and seventies.  I even had a couple in my bedroom as a child.  I wouldn't call these fine art by any means, but I treasure them as if they were. The two prints in the photo above were found in the trash....I couldn't believe my eyes!  One was still in shrink wrap with its original label.  They were part of the Moppet series of prints by Eden.  Many of the artists of the time went by one name, Eden, Eve, Gig, Keane, Maio, Goji, Ozz Franca, and Igor.  These lovely prints now proudly hang above my bed.

What a fabulous sofa!  My family had something similar in their living room.  It had more of a burnt orange color to it though, but very similar in style and fabric.

Here is the sofa I grew up with.  It is hard to tell because this photo is somewhat orange and dark, but it was a burnt orange and green floral sofa.  Not quite as vibrant as the photo above, but very similar.

Remember when streaking was all the rage?  One of the most infamous moments in Academy Awards’ history took place on the Oscar night April 2, 1974. As the host David Niven was introducing the night’s final presenter, Elizabeth Taylor, a nude streaker came running across Oscar’s stage flashing a peace sign. Liz Taylor was hysterical!  Then there's was Ray Stevens' song "The Streak"..funny stuff.

That first picture of Will Ferrell is why I will always go to see every movie he ever does. He cracks me up without even having to SPEAK.

I remember reading nothing but horrible reviews for Land Of The Lost.......but I'll be damned if I didn't laugh through the whole damn thing.

I haven't seen that one yet, but I'm looking forward to it. My favorite film of his is Old School.
