Recently in the local news, there was a story about a missing woman, from Lambertville, NJ, named Sarah Majoras who went missing during her walk home from a night out with friends at John & Peter's, a popular hangout in New Hope, PA. Sadly, Sarah's body was pulled out of the canal four days later and her death was ruled an accident. The odd thing about her case is that it mirrors the death of David Anderson back in 2000. David was a musician who worked at the local music store in New Hope, PA, and was hanging out at John & Peters on the night of his death, Sarah was a bartender at John & Peters, but on the night of her disappearance, was there on her night off, spending time with friends. There are so many coincidental details of both cases that many folks are now taking a second look at David's death over a decade ago.
Back in the 90s, my old boyfriend and I would regularly head up to New Hope, PA for a fun day of shopping, and walking around the town. We always made sure that we checked out the local music store where David Anderson worked. He was a friend of my boyfriend's at the time, and we would always stop by the store to say hello. Since he and my boyfriend were both musicians, they were always talking about upcoming shows they were performing in as well as the latest recordings by their favorite artists. David was always recommending some new music that we were not familiar with. Hanging out with David made me feel like I was hanging out with the cool kids who were "in" on the latest and greatest trends in music and fashion. On the night of July 21st, 2000, David was making his way home from John & Peters, after a night out with friends. He was walking over the same bridge that Sarah Majoras did, and was heading back to the same apartment! It turns out that David was either staying with or living with Adam Baker, who coincidentally, was Sarah Majoras' boyfriend at the time of her disappearance!
When we had heard about David's death back in 2000, my boyfriend was devastated. He went to the funeral and talked to some of the mourners who felt that his death was not an accident. He had disappeared on Friday and his body was not discovered until Monday. There were abrasions on his face, and an umbrella that he was supposedly carrying, was nowhere to be found. It was well known that David could not swim and was terrified of water, so it is a mystery as to how he ended up in the spillway of the canal. David Anderson's death was never solved but the Police at the time did not suspect foul play, and the autopsy was inconclusive. Many of Anderson's friends speculated that he might have been the victim of a jilted lover or a stalker. There was a website put up by his friends called "The Mysterious Death of David Anderson", but it has since been taken down. Many of his friends/family would probably like the site to be put back up, as it may contain details of his death that may shed some light on his case. There are some folks who state that Anderson was drinking and possibly drunk when he left John & Peters' but he did have enough sense about him to realize that he forgot his umbrella and came back for it. Plus there are witnesses who stated that he was not visibly drunk at the time he left J&P's.
So here are the similarities:

David Anderson a week before his death.

So here are the similarities:
- Both Left John and Peters in New Hope, Pa and walked to Lambertville, NJ and were never seen alive again.
- They were both heading to see Adam Baker in Lambertville. Adam Baker is not a suspect in either death.
- Adam Baker was Sarah's boyfriend and she was heading there after a night with friends. Dave was heading to stay there at his apt. Some reports say he was a roommate of Adam's and some just say he was staying there that night.
- Dave Anderson left J&P's and came back to get umbrella and then was never seen alive again. He was found in the Canal dead, with abrasions on his face. As far as we can find his death has been ruled as undetermined. Sarah left J& P's made it over the bridge to Lambertville, NJ, and shortly after that was never seen alive again. Sarah's death has been ruled accidental.

I hope both David and Sarah will have justice avenge their murders.
Its not even clear that it is murder, but there are too many similarities to NOT rule it out. Sadly, the authorities have already ruled Sarah's death an accident...but David's death is still a mystery. I just wish that there was some type of closure to the matter.
So sad! It does seem like there is a lot more to this than has been discovered. That Adam guy sounds like a good place to start.
Apparently the whole town had rallied around Adam giving him support. He has lived there his whole life and everyone who knows him says he is a good guy who is involved in an unfortunate coincidence....but still.
I think it was nice of ween to do a song in honor of him
@ Anonymous, yes it was very sweet.
